BetOnline Opens Super Bowl XLIX Odds Board

The Seattle Seahawks are the favorites to win the 2015 Super Bowl. Don’t expect any argument coming out of Denver. After a convincing Super Bowl victory, the Seahawks head into the offseason as 4-to-1 favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions next season at online sportsbook BetOnline.

Talented, physical, and young, Seattle has the look of a dynasty. No one expects mass changes in the offseason. QB Russell Wilson appears to be unflappable heading into what will be only his third season. And, even with all the hype, the Seahawks’ defense actually might be underrated. They deserve to be in the discussion of best defenses ever. Are there any teams out there that can compete at the same level as Seattle?

Oddsmakers have Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos listed at 5-to-1, behind only the Seahawks. A lot will have to change to make anyone who watched Seattle’s 43-8 dismantling of the Broncos believe Manning could beat the Seahawks.

The San Francisco 49ers - one of only a few teams that has stood up to the Seahawks - are 6-to-1 to win next year’s Super Bowl, which will be played Feb. 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The 49ers beat the Seahawks once in the regular season and were driving for a go-ahead score late at Seattle in the NFC Championship Game, before Colin Kaepernick was picked off in the end zone. Kaepernick will be back, along with coach Jim Harbaugh, to continue the best divisional rivalry in football next season.

The New England Patriots are the fourth team to have Super Bowl odds in the single digits. Tom Brady and the Patriots are listed at 7-to-1, but need an offseason roster upgrade in order to make a run at another title. Remember, New England didn’t have the playmakers to keep up with Manning and the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. Just think how the Patriots would have fared against Seattle’s defense.
