NBA Playoff Betting: Cavaliers Heavy Favorites Against Raptors

Basketball bettors get a breather on Friday night as there are no NBA playoff games scheduled. It’s only a short break though, as the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers head back to the hardwood on Saturday for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Before Game 3 though, they have to play Game 2 on Thursday night. The series opener in Cleveland wasn’t even close as the Cavaliers rolled to a 115-84 win as an 11-point favorite at top sportsbook Bovada. With that victory the Cavaliers remained undefeated in the postseason, having won nine in a row. During the streak they’re also 6-3 against the spread.

Not surprisingly the Cavaliers are heavy 12.5-point favorites in Thursday’s matchup. Cleveland is also a massive favorite on the latest series odds at Bovada at -5000. Toronto’s chances of shocking the world and defeating Cleveland are at +1600.

Over in the Western Conference Finals it’s a much closer battle between the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder. That series is tied 1-1 after Golden State rebounded with a 118-91 win as a 7.5-point favorite in Game 2. Stephen Curry stole the show in the win with 28 points, which included scoring 15 straight in less than two minutes at one point.

Game 3 goes in Oklahoma City on Sunday. In the postseason the Thunder are 4-2 straight up and 3-3 against the spread at home. During the regular season the Thunder were 1-1 SU and 1-0-1 ATS at home against Golden State. Look back even farther and you'll find that Oklahoma City has strong 11-2 SU and 7-4-2 ATS marks in their last 13 home games against Golden State.

The latest Western Conference Finals series odds at Bovada have the Warriors listed as a -400 favorite and the Thunder down as a +300 underdog. The NBA championship futures also heavily favor Golden State at -140. Cleveland is next at +160, followed by Oklahoma City at +750 and Toronto at +7500

Following this week’s NBA Draft lottery, bettors may also want to start thinking about NBA Draft props. The draft is still more than a month away on June 23, but Bovada already has started posting props. Available now is who will go first overall, with Ben Simmons at -500, Brandon Ingram +300 and everyone else at +2500.
