Sunday Night Football Odds: Colts in Pittsburgh as the Underdogs

On a three-game winning streak that has them tied for first place in the AFC South, the Indianapolis Colts hope to continue their late-season surge when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

The Colts made it three in a row last week with a 25-12 win over Tampa Bay as a 3-point favorite. Matt Hasselbeck started at quarterback in place of the injured Andrew Luck and passed for 315 yards with a two touchdowns. Donte Moncrief had eight receptions for 114 yards and T.Y. Hilton caught six passes for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pittsburgh is coming off a 39-30 loss to Seattle as a 3-point underdog. Ben Roethlisberger passed for 456 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, but finished the game on the sidelines with what was presumed to be a concussion.

Markus Wheaton had a big game in the loss with nine receptions for 201 yards and a touchdown. Roethlisberger was cleared to return to practice earlier this week and is expected to play Sunday night.

With Big Ben a go the Steelers are a 7-point favorite at top sportsbook 5Dimes. The Steelers are a disappointing 1-4 ATS in their last five games, but at home this season they are 4-2 SU and 3-2-1 ATS. Pittsburgh also loves the cold chill of December, as they are 7-0 SU and ATS in their last seven games in the month.

The Colts have won three in a row SU and four straight ATS. On the road this season Indy is 3-2 SU, but they’ve gone 3-0 ATS in their last three away from home.

The history in this series is all Pittsburgh. In the last 14 games between the Colts and Steelers, Pittsburgh is 12-2 SU and 9-5 ATS. At home the Steelers are 9-1 SU in their last 10 against the Colts with a 7-3 record ATS.
